GREEN ISLAND PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

The annual meeting of the Green Island Presbyterian Church, held on Friday night in the Kirkland Hall, was well attended. The Rev. Mr Kilpatrick presided, and thanked all for the kind sympathy extended to him and family during the trials which they had gone through during the course of the year. An excellent musical programme was presened, the following contributing: —The choir, under Mr M'Clymont; recitation, Miss Jessie Mills; solo, Miss J. Loudon; flute solo, Mr J. Miller; duet, Misses Smith; quartet—Mrs W. Geddes, Miss Smith, Mr W. Geddes, jun., and Mr M'Clymont; recitation, Miss Clifford: solos—Mrs Crossan, Miss Scott, Mr M'Clymont, Mrs J. Miller, Mrs E. Miller, Miss Scott. Miss Loudon acted as accompanist. An address was given by the Rev. Mr Miller, in the course of which he congratulated the church on the nrogress made in all its branches during the year. Mr R. Duncan read the session report, which showed the excellent work done by all the branches, and thanked the Sunday school teachers for their indefatigable labours among the young people. The sympathy of the session was also extended to those who had suffered bereavement through the war. Mr Holmes read the Sunday school report, and explained the en-felope system of maintaining the church finances, and hoped the congregation would give it a trial and make the work of the Deacons' Court easier. Mr M'Clymont made a few remarks anent the balance sheet, and hoped that although it showed a credit balanoe the congregation would be more liberal with their financial assistance during the incoming year, and enable the Deacons' Court to attend to all the necessary - repairs at the church and manse. On behalf of .the congregation, Mr Kilpatrick presented a cheque to Miss J. Loudon, who for some considerable time had acted gratuitously as organist to the church. Miss Loudon briefly thanked the congregation for its pleasant surprise. Refreshments were handed round by the ladies, and the usual votes of thanks were accorded to the, performers. The singing of the National Anthem and the doxology brought the function to a close.
