HIGH SCHOOL CAMP
The programme at the Tail un a Park camp yesterday morning included outpost and advanced guard work as a drill. Major D. B. Shand gave a lcoture on these subjects as a preliminary to the operations. In the afternoon a field operation was carried out on the country adjacent to Lawyers' Head. A and B Companies, with their headquarters at Tahuna, formed tho advance guard to the battalion. In moving along the ro:id to Tomahawk they encountered opposition, consisting of O Company on the ridge north of Lawyers' Head, and an exciting engagement followed. At tho conclusion of the operations Majors Cooper and Shand exhaustively reviewed the work done by officers, n.c.o.'e, and men. In tho evening a picture show, operated by Cadet M'George, was followed by a concert by the Old Boys' Musical Club. The president, Mr Mallard, brought a talented party. including Messre Strong, M'Connell, and Dcaker. The meeting of the old and present cadets was marked by the greatest enthusiasm, and a fine concert concluded the camp entertainments. This morning the camp will break up, and tho Cadet Battalion will march' through Princes street about 11 o'clock.
