J. C. WILLIAMSON PANTOMIME

The J. C. Williamson pantomime "Dick Whittington" will bo produced in Jtlis Majesty's Theatre for the first time at the matinee this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The talc of Whittington and his cat is perhaps one of the old legends that lends itself lor the purpose of pantomime belter than most others. There is 110 doubt that an exceptionally clovcr lot of people have been got together to interpret the play. Mr Arthur Stigant will appear this time as " Molly, the <Jook." As Alderman Fitzwarren, Mr Wihiam i'nllbrook should be splendidly cast, and tho "Idle Jack" of Mr Harry Roxbury should be worth going a long way to see. As " Thomas " —the Cat, Mr Billy Lebrun, an animal actor of much distinction in England, should bo in his element, while the eccentricities of ' Johnnie " should provide Mr Ernest Longford with that dry and unctuous humour for which he is famous. Mr Villiers Arnold, a prominent member of many comic opera companies, will appear as "Rodento," the Demon Rat. and Mr Howard Vernon as the Emperor of Morocco. Miss Pearl Ladd, also a light <>pcra prima donna, has an important part in the Princess "Rosy Dawn," while. Miss Ethel Walker, who plays the good fairy "Dulcibello." has many good opportunities vocally. Tho premiere danseuse is Miss Maggie Dickinson, who is ably supported by Mr Sydney Yates, an English artist of standing. Miss Vera Pearce. who plays the impeccable "Dick." is freely acknowledged to bo the best principal boy that has yet appeared in pantomime south of the line. Miss Constance Oaylcy is the "Rupert" of th£ production, while Miss Pauline Bindley, as "Alice," will doubtless prove another big asset in the general success vocally. The pantomime will bo re-

ipcatcd to-night and every evening at 7.45. A big sensation may be expected in the tnm of the Camilla Trio.
