GENERAL NEWS.
At the monthly meeting: of the Mosgiel District High School Committee, Mr A. Cameron presiding, the rector reported that tho attendance was considerably below the average necesearv to maintain the present stan. Miss Jackson had been appointed temporary third assistant in lieu of Mr Dallas, wqo had gone into c-amn. Miss Macfarhme was relieving Miss Bressev. He expected the latter to resume duties after the holidays. A collection taken up among teachers and pupil? on behalf of the fund to endow a schools' cot realised £7 2s. It was decided to procure some gravel for the school ground.
