PERSONAL.
Mr Hagger, the Conciliation Commissioner, will return to Christchurch by the exprass this morning. Mrs Campbell, at present at the Waipiata School, has been appointed head teacher of the Bannockburn School. In consequence of ill-health, Cr Lunn was unablo ro take his seat at the meeting of the City Council hold last evening. Mr H. V. Foster. Customs officer at Oamaru, will leave this week for Dunedin, where he will tako up duties as examining officer (reports tho Mail). Mr Foster win ho succeeded by Mr R..8. Pochards, of the statistical staff. Miss E. Williams, an energetic worker for the Rod Cross and other organisations in Melbourne, has during a three months' visit to this country taken every opportunity of studying and inspecting the work of a similar character done in the various Ne v Zealand centres. She pays a high tribute to the labours of the women of this country in patriotic causes, and was most faiourablv impressed by what she saw being done for the Red Cross nnd kindred causes in Dunedin. M'ss Williams will leave for Melbourne shortly. Tho relatives of Private Mulcahv, well known to the Anzacs in New Zealand! and whoso fine record of service has not been confined 'to the present campaign, have received word that he has been* exempted from further duty, and is returning to Victoria.
