PIPING AND DANCING COMPETITIONS.
The pipe music and Highland dancing to thn Vn *a # e anl J ual of the Pipers and Dancers' Association of New Zealand in the King's Theatre this after! noon and evening, promise to be one of the finest exhibitions of the kind ever held Now %o d ?T? n - . T llO championship of Now Zealand for girls under 18 is to be competed tor, and competitors from all parts of the dominion have entered for that distinction, which also carries with it the lvr 1 * oham P l onship cup presented by Messrs Thomson and Co. Ten entries have been received for the leading dancing events and 11 for the piping, including several champione, such as J. A. Cameron (Mataura and C. C. Macdonald (Masterton) both returned soldiers. The meeting of these exponents with the brothers.Angus and Archd. M'Millan (Dunedin) will excite much interest with lovers of pipe music lhe preliminary part of the competitions starts at 1 oclock, and the best throe in each event will meet finally in the evening which will result in the evening performances, of about two hours of only'the best of the competitors, being epecially interesting. The Taieri Pipe Band will play alon<» Princes street and outside the 'theatre before the evening performance.
