ANNIVERSARY SERVICES
NORTH-EAST VALLEY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. Anniversary services were hold in the North-East Valley Presbyterian Churoh on Sunday. Tho preacher in the- morning wus the Rev. W. F. Evans, and ho took as tho basis of his remarks Numbers, chapter x voises 28-22. Tlio preacher said that tho longer ho lived tho more ho seemed to notico a deadening of the conscience of many men and women. TTiero seemed to bo no grounds of appeal to them in spiritual things. Our lives affected and touched the lives of others at every point. Tha blessings of redemption were not for ns alone, but were to bo shared in by others. In tho evening the Rev. Robert E. Evans preached to a large congregation, taking as his text Psalm, chapter 65, verse 11 "Thou crowr.est the year with Thy goodness." Tho preacher said that the past year had bran one of successes and failures losses and gains. But behind the clouds was tho groat guiding hand of the Father. Hβ made a short review, and said "Let ns gather hope from tho past and press forward to greater service in the future." The hymns were appropriate, and tlio organist (Mr R. K. Madio) -*as assisted bv a large choir.
