During April the Edna May Deep Levels Company of Westonia milled 1200 tons for lllOgoz, as compared with 800 tons for 1200ijoz in March. The amount of minerals other than gold produced in the Transvaal during December compares with the figures of the preceding December as follows:—Coal (sold). 522,023 (545,945) tons; silver, 70,925 (81,157) fine ounces; copper, 454 (780) tons; tin, 248 (215 tons, while the totals for 1917 and 1916 were—Coal (sold) 6,641229 (6,136,913) tons; silver, 938,111 (955,895) fine ounces; copper, 9148 (12,077) tons; tin, 2858 (3159) tons. '
