May 27. in the bupremo Court, George Stokes, »'■»■ Mjick, was re-tried on a charge of break* ing and entering the paymaster's office at the railway station on November 1 and Btoahng £204, and also damaging a safe and committing mischief. At the previous Beeeions the jury disagreed on the charge of breaking and entering, but found Stokas guilty of receiving stolen money,- the accused being eer,fenced to a year's imprison* jnent. To-day tho jury found him guilty. Stokes, who had previously been imprisoned for breaking, entering, and false pretenoee, was sentenced to three years' imprisonment*
