PERSONAL
Major-general Sir Alfred Robin, Surgeongeneral Henderson, Lieutenant-colonel Sleeman, and Captain Bryan left for the north by yesterday's express. The Hon. A. F. Hawke, M.L.C., arrived from the south last night. Mr S. Boireham, who has been attending the Agricultural and Pastoral Workers' Conference at Wellington, returned to Dunedin last night. Mr VV. Miller, inspector in connection with the Department of Agriculture, Wellington. is at present in Dunedin, and is engaged touring the South Island. He will probably finally leave Dunedin at the end of his tour about three weeks hence. . After the general business of the Otago Patriotio Association was disposed of last night the president (Mr J. J. Clark) expressed the deep regret of himself and the members of the association at the news received by Mr M. M'Allen, a member of the executive, that his son, who has been serving with the forces at the front, is missing.
