CHAOS IN CHINA
PETTY WARFARE AND BRIGANDAGE. CENTRALISED AUTHORITY DISSOLVING. Pr«M Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Tho Times, . LONDON, May 26. (Received May 27, at 7.15 p.m.) The Shanghai correspondent of Tho Times states that Sun Yat Sen has resigned the post of generalissimo of the socalled Constitutional Military Government of the south-west, owing to the chaotic struggle between numerous military leaders for supremacy. Correspondents in all the provinces tell a monotonous tale of petty warfare and brigandage. Even the Tibetans have risen, and are besieging Chiambo. The contending sides in China are so honeycombed with intrigue and dissension that anything like centralised authority is rapidly dissolving into a series of petty predatory baronies.
