A Press cable message through Renter's Agency states that the Manchester Cup resulted: By Jingo 1. Planet 2, Hainault3. Some pathetic and tmgic cases of the warwounded socking to become workers once more have recently come to the attention of the Discharged Soldiers' Employment Committee (says the New Zealand Herald). One man who applied for light work a few days ago had lost his right arm at the shoulder, and had also been shot though the left ankle and the right knee. Work lor a man so terribly handicapped is naturally very much restricted, but the committee is trying to secure for him a position as liftman, or as ticket collector at some place of entertainment. Another case was that of a man "who luid lost both eyes as a result of shell concussion. Despite his infirmity , this man, with the bnive spirit shown by so many of the sightless, has taken up farm life with his parents and brother, and i s confident of being able w prove himself of uso in the running of the farm.
