Of the visitors to the Otago Winter Show, tho probabilities are that, in accord with the general experience, a great many will be suffering with rupture, particularly as regards the farming community, whose vocation necessitates heavy lifting, the most prolific cause of the malady. A serious outcome of this terrible trouble is that it causes the sufferer to be irritable in the extreme, and tends to make life unbearable for all with whom thev come in contact. Especially is this so within the domestic circle. The utmost gratitude has been expressed to Mr Martin on numerous occasions, not by the patient who has been personally benefited, but by the wife or husband, as the case may be, who is at last relieved from 'the " demon of unrest," which has so lone controlled the affilicted one. The visit to tho Show should certainly in many instil iocs be made to servo a two-fold purpose, the more important being, of course, tho opportunity of receiving skilful and scientific treatment at the hands of Mr A. W. Martin, controller of thn Dr Sherman method of curing rupture. It seems superfluous, after all the convincing evidence 'that hae been produced in the columns of the papers for weeks back, to point ont once more tint rupture cannot do cured by trusses, and need not be treated by the surgeon with his knife. The Dr J. A. Sherman appliance, assisted by the compound used, has proved, in the experienced hands of Mr A. W. Martin, to bo an immediate relief and a permanent euro, and this, not speaking with the limited local experience of a resident medical _ practitioner, but with 'the practically unlimited experience afforded by the whole continent of Australia, as well as both islands of Now Zealand. ' Why cannot people judge for themselves? Simply because they decline to look this question of their I'ves seriously and manfully iu the face. If they would only do so. they would be compelled to admit: "The truss is doing mo no good." This is the fact. Whv not acknowledge it? Having acknowledged tho fact, what next is to bo done? Only one thing is left, for tho logically-minded to do. and that is, believe the overwhelming evidence which confronts them, and seek the benefit—i.e., tho permanent one—which tho Dr .1. A. Shernnn treatment can give, and has given, to hundreds. Note.—Mr A. W. Martin will bring his present stay in Dunedin to a close on Friday, tho 31st of Maj% at 5 p.m. Up to that time he may be consulted daily at his rooms in Samson's Buildings, Dowling street, Dunedin. Hours: 10 a.m. to 12; 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Consultations free. A booklet on Rupture and its Treatment nested free to anv sufferer.
