CONCERT.
The concert given in tho Hanover Street Baptist Church last evening attracted a fairly numerous auditory, the members of which gave constant evidences of beiug thoroughly entertained and amused. Tho programme contained tlic names of many well-known vocalists, instrumentalists, and elocutionists. Tho National Anthem having been sung, Mr Desmoulins delighted the audience with his rendering of " Your Land and Mine," Miss Carter being no less successful in Light in Darkness." Mr Keir's cornet solo was "Tho Holy City," which ho played with skill and effect. The •Rev. R. S. Gray recited a scene from tho " Tale of Two Cities," his effort being warmly recognised. Mr C. C. Scott was in particularly good voice, and sang "Mv Violet" exceedingly well. Miss Christie's first vocal selection was "She Wandered Down tho Mountain Side," and she waa heard later in tlie evening in ''Blossoms, ' both being very niccly sung. Mrs Robertson s violin solo, Vieuxtemps's "Reverie," was admirably played, and quite deserved tho applause its performance met with. Miss Carter scored a second success in her singing of "Harbour Night Song." Miss Mazengarb gave a stirring recital of "Britons All," her recall item being of a humorous order. Even that did not suffice, and the young lady had to appear for the third time. Mr J. Patcrson followed with a satisfactory rendering of tho song "Son i?r ne '"i k' lc other solo performer being Mr Malcolm Gray. This gentleman played as pianoforte solo Schumann's "Novelette, with very satisfactory results, and like nearly all those taking part in the covert, was recalled. A vocal quartette consisting of Messrs Scott, T. Ritchie, Desmoulins, and Patcrson also contributed to the entertainment, which was given in aid of the Home .Mission Fund,
