The report of the manager of the Mount Road and Rosebery mines for the fortnight ended May 8 reads as follows:—Hercules Mine: No. 5a adit to 232 ft, in calcitic schist; No. 5 level—new adit to 2301t ; n sihcious schist; 620 ft north drive reached 268 ft; shows good grade zinc-lead sulphide overfull width of face. North _ Mount Lyell Mine: 700 ft levelground floor stoping operations continue in north drive; 925 ft level—No. 2 north drive reached 356 ft, through fair grade quartzitic ore; 1000 ft level—north drive to 260 ft, through mineralised schist; 1100 ft levelnorth drive to 401 ft through schist. Reduction W° r ks: Two furnaces in blast during fortnight; 3585 tons of blister copper consigned to the refinery for the current year.
