MELBA'S PATRIOTIC TOUR.
A LARGE SUM RAISED. SEVERAL EXCITING EXPERIENCES. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. VANCOUVER. May 22. (Received May 23, at 1 a.n'i.) Madame Melba. lias raised £75,000 for patriotic purposes. She entertained a soldiers in Americaji cantonments. She broke her wrist, in Texas, wlien a, beam fell from the theatre "Hies,''' but continued the performance. She has been in an automobile accident, a locomotive explosion, a run-a-way of a private car, and was slightly burned while boiling water for tea. She saw a man killed on the spot when run over by an automobile. Nevertheless the tour was* a great success.
