ANOTHER EXPLANATION OF DELAY.
VALUE OF AIRMEN'S WORK. OBSERVATION AND ARTILLERY DERANGED. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. LONDON, May 21. (Received May 22, at 9.30 p.m.) Ihe Pall Mall (!,i/ctto says in some quarters it is believed that the German commanders have beon waiting for a favourable phase of the moon to attack. On that assumption, it may be regarded as imminent. It is certain that the enemy's pre[>arations have been complete for some time, and initial attacks have Ikkmi delayed longer than lisu<nl. Meanwhile the British and French aviators have blinded the. enemy as never before— blinded him on the eve of a great battle. They have also greatly deranged the enemy's artillery movement. Signs exist that the enemy must not delay longer if they wish to retain the advantage of their initiative. .
