Largo audiences are the rule at the Queen's Theatre, where there is a strong attraction in "Betty Takes a Hand," a charming play with Olivo Thomas in the principal part. To-day will bo the last opportunity of seeing views of Auckland, taken from an aeroplane— a picture that has delighted thousands during the brief period of its showing l-.ere. Tho Gaumont Graphic and an instalment of "Tho Neglected Wife" are also on tho programme. An interesting dramatic entitled "The Awakening," is tho leading attraction at Everybody's Theatre. Tho story is -well worked' out, and affords opportunities for fin© acting by Montague I/ovo and Dorothy Kelly. Tho thirteenth chapter of "Lucille Love ' and other subjects complete an excellent programme. "Iho Countess Oharming" will head the new programmo at the Empire Theatre today. It is said that there are so manv things of interest about "The Countoss Charming," in which Julian Eltinge, the world-famous impersonator of feminine roles, will break into the films via Paramount, that it is difficult to. choosp 'among them. Tho plot surrounds the eflWt of two society loaders to oust a young college man from tho social world, whore ho has met Betty Loyoling and fallen in love with her. Ho promises her a large Reel Cross donation ; but the difficulty with the society pair makes this a hare! task. So Saunders Julian, tho college youth, masquerades as a Russian countess, is accepted in society, collects donations wholesale, not always in n WitiniHte manner.
