HARRIERS.

There was a fine turnout of the Cavorsham Harrier? on Saturday at the punt below the Harbour Board's officc. They wore taken aboard the launches iiahura and Matai, and an enjoyable trip down tho harbour a few miles beyond Portobello terminated in a plenteous spread; at the crib of Messrs List and Wills. The Pacific Harriers held pleasant outing' down the harbour in Messrs Caldwell's launch, over 30 members being present. A run was made from Hinkley's to Portobello, afternoon tea being provided at the Ferry Tea Rooms. The Civil Service Hajrriera rail from Wicklifle terrace, Port Chalmers. The pack ran along the low road to Sawyers' Bay, then aoiosa the hills towards W-aitati, thence home via the Cairn, some 15 miles being covered. The membens wer.o then entertained by Mr J. M. Harland at his residenoe. The St. Kilda Harrier Club held a mile and a-half novice race from the "Wesley Hall, MHissslburgh, on Saturday. Twelve competitors faced the starter. The field kept well together for about half the distance, and then Aewell, who ran a splendid race, went to the front, and maintained his lead to the end, winning easily. A good finish resulted botweon the eecond and third man, only two yards separating them. Result: —E. Newell (scratch), 1; A. Cole (5 seconds), 2; R. j\[ o ir (scratch), 3. Tho cftib afterwards entertained a large number of friends to tea and to a social evening, and a fitting farewell was accorded to the doputy-captain (J. H. E. Smith), who will leave for camp on Tuesdav.
