SrE,—Though, I am loth to return to this subject, I think jt my duty to acknowledge the compliment paid to mo. among others, by your correspondent Mr J. \Vil--35 my claim was for fair plav, and he puts a fair issue, to admit that I do not uphold the use of irritating or offensive language in the Tablet columns or out of them. Air Wilson, as a fair ™ an > will admit, however, that the fault in this respect was not all on one side. Both sides have been guilty, and I am sure that no business man, Catholic or Protest tant, favours tho use of terms calculated to disturb tho general harmony. 1 do not think that tho Imaginary ailments from which the body politic is assumed to be suffering will ever be relieved by the at>plioation of acetic acid or mustard plasters. The introduction of contentious matter obliterates the memory of past kindness and I am sorry I forgot for the moment tho fine generosity of the many good Protes'tn/nte towards not only the Christian Brothers, but to every other Catholic organisation in the city, in tho apnreciation of which I am sure every member of tho Catholic community will gladly join.
