Dash Kaka beat Miss Guardstona. Oamaru Brick beat Spanowbawk. Semi-final. Dash Kaka beat The Joker. Oamaru brick a bye. Final. Dash Kaka and Oainarn Brick dividedi tho stake. Green Strip© and Dashing Star w-oro the first pair to run. Tho lead up was very even, there not being much between, the dogs on reaching the hare. It waa a fair test of speed, tho slip being a long one. What little work there was lay with Dashing Star. The Joker led Black Satin, the latter apparently running unsighted for the first few seconds. After this Block Satin put in some work in a dodgy course to tho escapes, but not sufficient to win, Yiv's Gift led D-osh Kaka by three lengths to the hare, and turned. After that both dogs bung well to the game, Dash Kaka being prominent, and ending tho course with a kill. Miss Do Val tan badly unsighted, and was not, therefore, near the hare when Mass Guardetone turned. Miss Guardstone kept her advantage, the course terminating with a kill. There was a fair test of speed between Wildwind and Oamaru Brick, in which Oamaru Brick had: decidedly the best of it at th ® end; the least being botween five and six lengths. The course, which was not a long one, terminated in a kill. \ Spa-nowhawk beat Colleen's Guard badly to the bare. Then the latter flicked, andl Sparrowhawk quickly killed. In the second round Dashing Star and Tho Joker were first put into the slips. There was a rather fluctuating run to the hare, Tho Joker getting there by a narrow margin. A short course ended in the escapes being gained by the quarry. Dash Kaka was much the quicker to the game, several lengths separating him from Miss Guardstone. Ycry little work waa done before the hare gained oover, the award being in favour of the leader-up. Oamaru Brick and Sparrowhawk made a good race to the hare, which they reached on. fairly evern terms. Oamaru Brick had, however, slightly the beat of it, and started the subsequent work which drove to cover, and retained his initial advantage. In tho semi-final, Dash Kaka ran unsighted, and The Joker almost imnradiatcly killed, the judge signalling a no course. The dogs were put back into the slips, and in a splendid run up Dash Kaka had a very short bead and turned, winding up with a kill almost immediately afterwards. Oamaru Brick ran a bye. This left Dash Kaka and Oamaru Brick to fight out the finish, but aa both belonged to the same owner (Mr "W. E. Good all) they dividled the stake. *
