YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION. Tho monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of : the Y.W.C.A. was held yesterday. Mrs IL E. Wilson (presidenfcj presided. The Religious Work Committee reported that ways and moans wero being considered for raising £93 required for the foreign department. Tho membership i-eport showed 15 now members, the total to date being 921. Tho hostel report showed that every bed was occupied, a huge number having fcecn unable to obtain accommodation. The cafeteria secretary reported an average daily of 75 girls, the total number served being 1553. The general secretary reported that the Advisory Board had inspected the hostel building. It had been decided to get a further report from the builder and surveyor. The financial statement showedReceipts, £152 16s 6d; expenditure, £158 26s Id; outstanding accounts, £118 14 s sd• deficit, £43 7s del. Arrangements were made to hold a sale' of work, the proceeds to bo divided between the general fund anil tho foreigu department. The educational classes had started, and students wero boing enrolled. It was suggested that Empire Day (May 24) should be observed as a dav of prayer.
