PAPAROA MINE STRIKE
CONFERENCE-WITH PRIME MINISTER.

WELLINGTON, April 17. The Prime Minister had a confereneo today with representatives of tho coal miners regarding the striko at tho Paparoa mine. After the conference Mr Massey said there was a fair prospect of a settlement, but that tho result would not bo known until tho union delegates had timo to convey tho proposals to thoir unions.
