WAIHEMO COUNTY COUNCIL

The ordinary meefing of the Wazhemo County Council -was held on Saturday; present—Crs Mathieeon (chairman), Pilbrow, Chapman, M'Lay, Aitcheaon, O'Gonncll, O'Neill, Mfller. Prior to the ordinary business being proceeded with, the Chairman referred to the sudden death of Mr Alex. Miionnan, an old and respected member of tho council, •who died recently as tho result of a motor accident. A resolution of sympathy was passed by a silent vote, tho councillors standing. The Collector of Customs, Dimedin, notified the council that the extract from the gold declaration lodged with him for tho Waihemo County for tho month*of November was 330z, and that for tho month of December was 40oz.—Received.
