BRITISH INDUSTRIAL FAIRS
OVERSEAS DOMINIONS NOT TO BE NOTIFIED. (Pke United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 19. The Department of Industries and Commerce has received through the Governorgoneral a communication from the Secretary of State for the Colonies to the effect that while it has always been the desiro , of the Board of Trado that genuine British manufacturers domiciled in British Over-. seae Dominions should exhibit at industrial , lairs organised by the board in Great Britain, in view of the difficulties connected with sea transport and the increased nuber of restrictions affecting the importation of various classes of goods covered by the fairs, it appears to the board to be useless. to invite manufacturers in the dominions to J exhibit at the British Industries Fairs to be held in London and Glasgow from February 5 to March 8 next year, and they do not propose therefore to issue notifica- ' tions to those countries. The Board of , Trado adds that after the termination of hostilities fairs will continue to bo organised on a far larger scale than is practicable under existing conditions,, and they propose that every possible facility bo given manafacturers in the dominions to avail themselves of the advantages afforded by such fairs in bringing their goods to the notice of buyers for both British and foreign markets.
