ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 19. WMo Mrs W. J. Fletcher was motoring dovni Parnell Kiso her car skidded and crashed, into a tram; which was ascending the hill. The motor car was badly smashed, Mrs Fletcher was thrown out. sustaining a fractured fkull and thigh and internal injuries. Her condition, is critical. Hugh M'Liveai, single, a signwTiter, rcaklkfjr at Mount Eden, was admitted' to tlio hospital suiTcring from the effects of a dose of acid, from whioh ho died a few hours later. Ho was recently operated on for appendicitis, and had boon complaining of severe, pains. A collision between a spring-cart and a motor car occurred at t.ho corner of Manso and Stafford streets on Saturday afternoon. Tlio delivery cart of Mr 11. W. Allen, friiitorcT, Princes street, was proceeding from Stafford street into Princes street, when it canio into contact with a mo-.csr car driven towards High etroet. Tho horse, in falling, received minor cuts, one. shait of tJio cart was broken, and tlio mud-guard of tho motor car was crumpled.
