THE BARRIER
Tho screening of Res Beach's picturisation of his famous book, "The Barrier," at the Octagon and King Edward Theatres, commencing at the matinee this afternoon at 2.30, under the direction of E, J. Carroll, is claimed to be an exemplification of tho power of the moving picture to preserve the peculiar natural touches of tho author's story. As produced by Rex Beach' 3 own company, under his personal supervision, in association with Edgar Lewis, a faithful and artistic interpretation of the gripping story embracing tho sinister barrier of race and blood is given. The scenes aro laid in Alaska., north of that line where runs "never a law of God or man," where convention is unknown, and a rude but pure justico is administered according to primitive ideas. "Tho Barrier" was one of the higgest successes of New York, and it filled three theatres for three weeks in Sydney. The Sydney Daily Telegraph said: "It is a faithful interpretation of Rex Beach's great story, thrilling and intense. Tho picture is crammed with suspense and action, staged in typical Alask:m scenery 'The Barrier' is a big film, that will surely find a place in the hearts of picturo audiences." The box plan is at The Bristol. '
