EMPIRE THEATRE
The chief attraction in tho new programme at the Empire Theatre is a Famous Players production entitled " The Old Homestead"—a picture version of the book by Denman Thompson. Reuben Whitoomb, the son of a farmer of West Swansey, is arrested on circumstantial evidence when the bank which employs him is robbed of 10,000 dollars. The real thief is discovered, But meanwhile Reuben has made good his escape and fallen among bad companions in New York. There, one evening, he meets Jack Hazzard, a one-time tramp whom his father helped to better things, and Hazzard takes him to a lodging-house, wiring to the father that Reuben has been found. Reuben, however not knowing that his name hps been cleared, escapes from Hazzard, fearing betrayal. The father ultimately finds his son in the city, and the /two. with Hazzafd, return to the farm, where Ruth Stratton. who has remained steadfast in her love for Reuben, awaits their coming. With Frank Lossee as Joshua Whitcomb, Creierhton Hale as Reuben, and'Louiso Huft as Ruth Stratton, a good rendering 4 of the leading parts in the picture is assured. A new Victor Moore comedy and one of the popular Brav cartoons complete the programme, which will be screened again to-day.
