WELLINGTON, November 9. In the Supremo Court to-day a young * man named Herbert William Gough was „ charged with, having attempted to stupefy a girl by means of a drag, with, intent to commit a crime. The accused was alternatively charged with assault "with intent to oomnnfc a crime, and with assault. Tho jury re- *~ turned a verdiot of guilty of oommon assault. Sentence was deferred. George Shone, an able seaman, formerly ~' employed on » transport, was charged with having secured - information which might i have been used in a meaner prejudicial to % the State.
