FOOD ECONOMY. CAMPAIGN AMONGST WOMEN. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. * NEW YORK, October 29. A campaign has commenced aiming at inducing half a million women to sign a food economy pledge. Supporting Mr Hoover, the Food Controller, President Wilson has made a statement declaring that it is America's duty to provide an adequate supply of foocl for her soldiers and civil population, also for the armies of the Allies. Citizens should remember that they could not accomplish the war's objects without .sacrifices. He particularly urged eating, less both in their homes and in restaurants.
LUXBURG'S INTRIGUES. AIMS AGAINST BRAZIL. BUENOS AIRES, October 29. A Brazil despatch asserts that a message sent by Count Luxburg when he was in the Argentine reveals a German plan for the invasion of Southern Brazil. The newspapers demand the publication of the documents, and criticise tfye Argentine Government's silence.
