The Richardson steamer Awahou, which has been delayed for a fortnight owing to no soamen being obtainable to replace tlixco who left at 24 hours' notice, sailed for the East Coast to-day. WELLINGTON, October 29. The body of Walter Woods, a resident of Wellington for about 40 years, and tho proprietor of a butchery business in the city, was found floating in tho harbour to-day. CHRISfTCHUIICH, October 29. In the Supreme Court, John Shcehan, a youth, was sentenced to reformative treatment for three years for indecent assault. John Bowman was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment, and was declared an habitual criminal, on a charge of breaking and entering.
