LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
(Abridged from Press Association telegram.) WELLINGTON, October 10. The Legislative Council met at 8 p.m. instead of 2.30 owing to Sir Francis Bell having been absent to attend the funeral of the late Hon. J. D. Ormond. , LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Leave of absence was given to >the Hon. Mr Fisher for the remainder of the session on account of illness. LATE MR ORMOND. . • ' Sir FRANCIS BELL gave notice to move next evening that the Council appreciate-, the services rendered to the dominion by; tho late. Mr Ormond. * LOCAL BILLS. ■Six local Bills were passed through all stages without amendment. ' Tho Council adjourned at 9 p.m.
