L Tho monthly moeiing of tho Dunedin Fire Boaid was hold yesterday afternoon; present—Messrs T. Chalmer (chairman), Scott, Webb, Wilson, and Black. Tho St. Kilda Borough Council wrote ofl'oring the sea-vices of their brigade to the board owing to tho ranks of the Dunodin Brigade being depleted by the calling up of membois for military service.—Received, a letter of thanks to be forwarded to the St. Kilda Council and their brigade for its kind offer. Tho Trustees, Executors, and Agency Company wrote applying for four of the board's debentures of £100 each.-—lt was resolved that .the debentures be allotted in accordance with the application. The General Committee reported that requisitions for various stores had been approved. It also reported having passed for payment accounts amounting to £1242 0s 2d, and that there was a credit balance at the bank of £1101 7s 9d on September 11 after the payment of accounts. Messrs G. Laurie and J. Nisbet had been appointed officers in charge of the Woodhaugh and Maori Hill sections of the Dunedin Fire Brigade respectively during the pleasure of the board.—Adopted.
