A largo number of the friends of the late Captain Strang, formerly- marine superintendent of the Union Steam Ship Company, attended his funeral at Wellingr ton on Wednesday. The Revs. W. Gray Dixon, of Dunedin, and Kennedy Elliott, officiated at the graveside, and the pallbearers were Captain Robert Neville, Captain H. Johnson (ex-harbourmaster), Mr N. M*Niehol (Union Company's victualling department), and Mr John Currie (Union Company's labour foreman). Mr Andrew Strang (son of tho deceased) and the Rev. F. Miller,. of Feilding (son-in-law) were the chief mourners. Among others prosent were Captain "W. Manning (of > the Maori), Captain Jaznee Smith (Union Company's coaling department), aod Mr W.
