EMPIRE THEATRE

Many persons have read the story of "Big Tremaine," and will readily understand that it is eminently adapted for a pictorial display on the screen at any picture theatre. It has been so utilised, and the Empire Theatre management has been fortunate in being first fiere to place it before the public. Tremaino is not big in stature alone; he is»big in heart and nature, and makes an ideal hero, also loves, suffers, and loves again; and who, in spite of all his wrongs, retains a sense of fairness and justice towards ail. Hβ is more than justhe is generous to a fault. Tremaino loves a girl named Cameron, is entrusted with the banking of a large sum of money, returns to find Julia Cameron in the iirms of his brother David—then exit JohnTremainc. Later he returns to find that some of the money banked is short, and that he is regarded as a thief. Worse still, it has caused the death of some of his loved ones. Julia has married his brother David, who has died, and has left children. Then Tremaino's big iheart asserts itself, and he makes provision for all those in whom ho is concerned. He becomes extremely popular, and is urged to accept nomination for Congress. Immediately he rescues Isobel, the , daughter of Banker Malvern, from possible... death through a fall from a horse, and the young lady takes <a very lively interest in his candidature for Congress. Ultimately his name is cleared of all suspicion, so far as the shortage in the money to be banked is concerned, by the confession of Julia, his dead brother's wife, who admits that it was her husband who abstracted it from the bag loft in Julia's possession. It is a fine picture very well screened. In addition there are shown a Co-op. Weekly of American events associated with the war. a scenic of Rio do Janeiro, and a good comedy, entitled "Father Was Right."
