MAORI HILL BAND

The annual meeting of the Maori Hfll Band was attended by 36 members, and Mr John Adamson (vice-president) presided The annual report stated that duxin«- the year six members had joined the cokmrs— Messrs G. Mitchell, H. Freeman, W Caulcutt, Robinson, F. Jackson, and A. Holdaday, thus increasing the number who are serving King and country to 2L Notwithstanding these depletions, the membership is larger than at any previous period in the history of the band, most of the now members being under the military age. The financial. returns from collections at the open-air concerts were much below those of the previous year, accountable entirely to the bad weather which prevailed on several of these, occasions.
