ACCIDENTS.
(Feom Otra Own Coeeespondent.)' WANGANUI, July 29. A serious accident occurred to a young man named Thomas Ritchie yesterday while he was engaged in building operations at the new freezing works at Kakariki. Ritchie was working on some scaffolding at a considerable height above the floor: It is stated that a plank on which he was standing gave way, and he was precipitated on to the hard concrete He sustained a broken leg above the knee, and a broken and fractured arm. Ho is a son of Mr T. Ritchie, of Burnside.
William Boyd, aged 15 years, who resides in Mornmgton, was admitted to the Hospital on Saturday in an unconscious state, as the result of a fall from a milkcart which he was driving when the horse shied violently at a passing lorry. Inquirylast night showed that his condition had. improved a good deal during Sunday, and he was considered to be out of danger.
