ST. ANDREW'S CHOUR CONCERT
Iho musical ability displayed by many of the performers at the concert given in St. Andrew's Church Hall last evening was ot a distinctly good order, and the very largo audience tnat assembled gave every evidence of being more than saoisfied with a programme that containd over 20 items The items were provided mainly by the choir, or individual members thereof, but then- efforts to entertain were supplemented by vocal solos by Mrs A. G. Green, Messrs A. W. Alloo, and S. E. Cuttlo. The part song by thp choir were "Hail, Smilin"Morn," "The Silent Tide," "Stars of the Summer Night," "0 Gladsome Light, ,, "0 Hush Thee, My Baby," and "Old Mother uubbard, all of which were very well rendered, under the direction of Mr G W Johnstone. Tho other vocalists' names on tne programme were Mrs Green, Mr W Hall, Miss Owen Park, Mr A. Johnson, Miss E. M. Marshall, Mr S E Cuttle, Miss Evie Bell, Mr George Elvidge, and Mr Arthur W. Alloo In a vocal direction a quartet was given by Messrs Barclay, Outtlo, Lyon, and Elvidgc, and a duet by Messrs W. H. Hall and U hlvidgo. Variety was lent to tho performance by the inclusion of a monol°^" e , b , y Ml l? Gwen Cuttlo, a recitation by Miss Mary Park, U nd a pianoforte solo by Miss E.' Williamson. The musical and olocutionary efforts toy all the performers earned the heartiest applause, and the National Anthora concluded tho concert lne accompanists were Misses E. Williamson and Margaret H. Gawno. The proceeds of the concert were devoted to tho funds of the choir of tho church.
