MILITARY DEFAULTERS
Alexander Michael Thomson, farmer, of Brydone, whoso name appeared in the last gazetted list of military defaulters, volunteered for service in October last, and left New Zealand in March as a member of one of the reinforcements. The Minister of Defence has acknowledged that the inclusion of thp name in the list was duo to an error on tho part of the defence authorities, and has expressed his sincere regret at the pain and annoyance that have been caused to tho soldier's relativee and friends.
Seven million pounds are wasted every year on indiscriminate charity in Britain.
