A good deal of silt was running into the paddock. During the past week operations have beea carried on' in No. 2 level in the Waitangi Consolidated mine, driving on the mam reef. The Waihi-Paeroa Goldl Extraction Company, during the per.od ended July 14 treated 13,200 tons of tailings for a return" of bullion valued at £4650. Compared with iQiV etU u rn f ??Jk e corresponding period of 1916, when 13,000 tons yielded £3450, this shows an increase of £1200. The present return completes the figures for the first six months of the current year, the yield •I.I.HH p beins £26 > 75 °. as compared with £21,450 for the first half of last year ■ an increase of £5300. The total amount won by the company to date is £229 461 ™ e paid to date amount to iIa,cKJU.
