COLD STORAGE

WELLINGTON, July *25. lhe imperial Government's statement regarding the shipoing prospects in relation to a product that does not require insulated space gives point to a statement made by the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon W D. S.MacDonaloV The question of providing increased freezing space for storage purposes in New Zealand has been before the Government for some weeks, he said. The Efficiency Board* had made a recommendation on the subject, and other reports had been received. An agreement had been made with the Wellington Harbour Board to provide cold storage for an additional 45 000 or 50,000 crates of cheese. The Prime Minister had convened a conference of representatives of the freezing" factories, which had the plant and facilities to provide cold storage, to consider the whole position The conference would be held in Welbngton next week, and an endeavour would be made to provide the storage space required by the farmers of the country.
