Tho Port Chalmers branch of the Red Cross Society completed it first year on April 30 last, and the balanco sheet shows that the sum of £485 18s 9d was collected and the sum of £307 12s was expended in material to bo made up, leaving a balance. During the year 16,668 articles wore forwarded to the Dunedin branch of the society. The committee is very trratef u] to the people of Port Chalmers for the manner in which they have responded to the .society's appeal for funds to carry o D the work It also wishes to thank the many workers and helpers who have assisted in this very satisfactory result. The association wishes to thank Amy Pritchard Elorrie Galvin, and Dorothy Whyte, whose enterprise led them to hold a small sale of toys, drapery, sweets, and drinks, whereby they have been enabled to hand over £1 3s 7£d for soldiers , parcels. This week Mrs E)a Costa is arranging a sale of work in order to raise, money for cotton and for the Minesweepers' Dependents' Fund. Contributions have been received as follow — Money: Mrs i>.
