THE AIR RAID ON LONDON: THE • CHILDREN'S SYMPATHY.
Sir, —In connection with the movement to send Home a monetary gift from the school children of Now Zealand for the benefit of the sufferers in the recent air raid in London, a penny collection has just been taken in the Sawyer's Bay School, and so hearty was the response that I have pleasure in forwarding to yon the sum of £1 19s 6d. Will you kindly take charge of the contribution—a children's gift to suffering children in the Homeland, —I am, etc., T. A. Ftnlat, Head Master. . Ste, —Would it be asking too much to request the ehopkeepers( in George an-d Princes streets to close their premises from 10.30 to 11.15 on Tuesday to allow all assistants to join in giving tho reinforcements a good eend-off on Tuesday.
