' WELLINGTON, April 16. >.; This afternoon the Court of Appeal heard argument in the Crown case reserved of his £ Majesty the King v. Thomas M'Namara, who -was indicted at the. sittings of the { Supreme Court in November on a charge of * attempted indecent assault. During the hearing the Crown tendered a .« , constable as a witness, and the Cfcown ' Prosecutor askod if any complaint was * made "by the victim, and its nature. This evidence was objected to by counsel for the i accused. The Chief Justice admitted evidence of the fact that complaint -was made, but not the nature of the complaint. The * accused was found guilty, and was sentenced , to five years' imprisonment, and declared an habitual criminal.
