OTAGO RUGBY UNION. ' A meeting of tho committco of tho Otago .Uugby Football Union was held last night; present—Messrs Cavaaagh (vice-president). Nelson, Wilson, Stevens, Whito, Sandes, Stuart, Miscall, Cook, M'Dougall, and Dt Evans. Messrs Alloo and Eggloton represented tho Schools' Association. The Chairman welcomed tho schools' dolegates,_ and added that any timo given to iostering football was not wasted. Footballers and athletes in general had rendered signal service in the war. Mr Whito reported that he had given evidence before the Efficiency Board in tho interests of football. Ho did not think football was worrying the board much; it was rather horse racing and picture shows. Messrs Cavaaagh and Nelson wero appointed to attend the annual meeting of the Schools' Association this afternoon with a view to encouraging Rugby football among tho Echools. It was intimated that tho annual meeting of' the New Zealand Rugby Union would bo held in Wellington on May 17.—1t was resolved to ask Messrs Facho, Eyre, and Abbott, of Wellington, to represent tho union at the meeting. Sub-committees were appointed. Arrangements for the coming season were discussed. It was resolved—(l) "That the A Grade competition bo limited to players under 20 years of age on May 1, 1917, and that clubs bo asked to advise .if they can enter a team of players over 20, and also to adviso the number of players over 20 that they have in their club." (2) "That each club playing in the competition must enter an A team." (3) "That the question of the C Grade competition be held over ? r u a fortn 'Sht, and that in the meantimo clubs bo asked for an opinion regarding the age limit for this grade." The season- will bo opened on May 12.
