, ALTERATION ON SOUTH LINES. (Pes Uwrrnn JPneau Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 14. Details of the reduced train services on the Canterbury lines are now available^ .Possibly, owing to tho difficulty of ensuring tho early arrival of tho ferry steamer during tho winter months, tho times of departure from Christchurch of the express trains for Dunodin have been mado later. There is, however, no indication that the change in tho times of departure is intended to operate only during the winter months. The express trains will leave Christchurch as follows:—First express, 8.45 a.m.; second express, 12.25 p.m. There will be no dining cars attached to express trains on tile up and down journeys, but .passengers will be allowed a period of about 20 minutes at, Oamaru for a meal. As at present, light refreshments will bo obtainable at Ashburton. In connection with the first express for tho south, leaving at 8.45 a.m., provision will bo mado at the Christchurch railway station for a countcr, at which tea, sandwiches, biscuits, buns, and suchliko will be obtainable.
