MINING.
A good quantity of ore has been broken from the stopes in the Occidental mine, a little gold being seen in it. Tho reef looks very promising, and, the manager adds, should mako good stono at any time. The Rismg Sun battery manager reports for tho month of March as follows:—"During March we milled 260 tons for a return of £870 ss, and cyanidcd 254 tons for £299 17s 7d, giving a total yieeld of £1170 2s 7d. This works out at an average of £4 5s per ton. Colours of gold are occasionally seen in the or© from tho stopes on the Waiotahi battery level. DREDGING RETURNS. Oz. dwt. gT.
