MINING.
During March the Talisman Consolidated Company crushed and treated 1490 tons of ore, yielding bullion valued at £10.400 0s 9d. Compared with the return for the corresponding period last year, when 1170 tons yielded £4705 Is 6d, this shows an increase of £5694 19s 3d. The total bullion won from the mine to date is £2,666,957 Os Id. The costs for the past month totalled £5 9s lOd, made up as follows:—Mine development, £l 2s Id; mining, £1 Is lid; milling, £1 Os Id; general expenses, 5s 9d. The following is a copy of a cablegram sent to the London office of the company:—"No. 16 level, north drive: Progress, 44ft. West crosscut, off south drive, 57ft."
