NEW METHOD OF ATTACK.
Admiration in France. BATTLE FRONT OPENS T/nrp. A FAN. FLANK ATTACKS IMPOSSIBLE. . PARIS, April'l2. Much admiration is expressed here over the new British tactics, by which the front oi attack is widened as the attack progresses, instead of narrowing as in previous allied offensives. Thus- it i s now impossible for the enemy to make flank attacks, as no salient is produced. The British front has doubled' .two ways like opening a fan. Its left commands the' Donai Plain, its centre is within seven miles of Douai, and its right is dangerously threatening the German lines with envelopment, while progress is also beinc made towards Lens.
