Sapper Moore-Jones lectured again yesterday afternoon and evening in tho Art Gallery Hall on the Gallipoli campaign, and xnoro especially on tho part played therein by the New Zealanders and the Australians. The lecture is most interesting , , and it is rendered more so by tho exhibition of tho pioturea painted by Sapper Moore-Jones, whioh aro used by tho lecturer to clearly explain his account of tho fighting , . Referring to the ill-starred attack at Suvla Bay, the lecturer said ho did not blame tho English troops which took part therein, and who had been accused of being tho real cause of tho failure of the attempt to secure a commanding position at Gallipoli. Tho King himself had stated to him (the lecturer) during his visit to Buckingham Palace that it was ridiculous to think that they could ■uso ill-trained soldiors, who had had no experience of actual warfare, on such a venture, and hope to meet with success. There was a small attendance only at the lecture yesterday afternoon, and it may be pertinent to remark that, apart from the lino educational entertainment presented, a duty is laid on every citizen to hear at first hand what Sapper Moore-Jones has to eay of the gallant deeds of our men. Tho lecturer. stated yesterday that, with tho exception of a few minor expenses, the wholq of the.proceeds are to bo dovotcd to the Now Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association. The association was out to look after the returned soldier. Thoro will be no exhibition to-day.
